 KIDNAPPING: EKITI KWARA YOUTH EXPRESSES CONCERN OVER THE NEW GROWING WAVE

The entire Ekiti Kwara Youth development platform expresses deepest concern and apprehension at the growing security threat that has been heightened by unknown gunmen activities in the LGA.

It is no doubt that the concern has raised a new level of anxiety and panic among Ekiti Kwara people given the new wave of boldness and attack perpetrated by the unknown gunmen along Osi-Obbo-Aiyegunle road and sometimes a health officer working in the LGA was also kidnapped in the same axis.

 It is presumed that if the situation is not properly nipped by the bud, there is the likelihood for the wave of security threats to spread to other communities in the LGA.

 In this regard, we commiserated with the family of the victims and pray fervently for the quick recovery of Mr. Jacob and the release of his brother.

 However, we suggest that there is an urgent need for:

 -      Stakeholders to meet and proffer solutions on how to curb the menace before it gets out of hand.

 -      Collective security arrangement should be by all the communities in the LGA to produce a committee at that level with the responsibility of providing sensitive security information for security agencies at their areas of operation.

  -      Law enforcement agents in the LGA to be more coordinated and intensified more effective ways to prevent the crime of kidnapping to ensure greater safety of the people.
